Last Minute Tax Credit
There is an additional federal tax credit for families who have students who attend a college or university in a disaster area which happens to be much of the Midwest. Because of massive flooding last year this affects most of the colleges in Indiana and many thorough out the Midwest.
If your student goes to a college or university in Indiana you may be able to claim an extra tax credit for 2008. As I have looked at families tax returns for 2008 I have noticed that most people are missing this opportunity to put an additional $1800 - $2000.00 in their pocket.
If you have already filed your returns it is not too late! This can still be fixed if you catch it early enough.
